Welcome

Welcome to Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC (HMMA), Hyundai’s first assembly and manufacturing plant in the United States. This $1.7 billion automotive plant is one of the most advanced assembly plants in North America.

HMMA currently provides employment for more than 3,000 people who are bringing to life Hyundai’s new design direction called “Fluidic Sculpture”. The all-new Hyundai Sonata and Elantra reflect a forwarding-thinking design fusing style, safety technologies, and eco-friendly features in one complete package. Both cars are powerful and offer plenty of legroom, many luxuries inside, and great fuel economy—the perfect compliment to their surprisingly affordable price tags. HMMA also builds the 2.4-liter Theta 4-cylinder Gasoline Direct Injection engine, 2.0-liter Theta 4-cylinder Turbo engine, and 1.8-liter Nu 4-cylinder engine.

After more than a quarter-century in the U.S. automobile market and with “America’s Best Warranty,” Hyundai continues to reinforce its commitment to sell innovative, high-quality vehicles at affordable prices.

Certified to the World’s Highest Automotive Operating Standard

In February 2007, HMMA achieved Certification to the International Automotive Task Force’s (IATF) most rigid quality management standard, ISO/TS 16949, a set of Quality Management System requirements specific to the automotive industry. ISO/TS 16949 is the highest automotive operating standard in the world. Benefits of adopting the ISO/TS 16949 standard include improving quality of processes at the facility along with streamlining supply chains, both leading to a better overall product.
