HMMA TEAM MEMBERS DONATE MONEY AND MUCH-NEEDED ITEMS TO LOCAL WOMEN’S SHELTERS

Montgomery, Ala., April 14, 2021  – To celebrate and honor Women’s History Month, HMMA team members collected supplies and monetary donations for two local women’s shelters during the month of March. Team members from every area of the plant shopped at local stores and purchased dozens of much-needed items to help fill the needs of local women. The items were then donated to Family Sunshine Center and Friendship Mission.

In addition to the donations collected for the women’s shelters, HMMA sold Women’s History Month-themed hats and face masks to team members as a fundraiser. The fundraiser raised $3,920, which was split between the two organizations.

“HMMA is one of the best partners a small nonprofit can have,” said Tara Davis, executive director – Friendship Mission. “They understand the importance of supporting the community in which they operate. With HMMA’s support, Friendship Mission is able to continue providing food and shelter to those experiencing hunger and homelessness.”

“Family Sunshine Center is grateful for our partnership with Hyundai,” said Tay Knight, executive director – Family Sunshine Center. “The items collected by their amazing team members will help survivors on their courageous journey to a violence-free life.”

The items donated by team members to Family Sunshine Center and Friendship Mission include household items, cleaning products, clothing items, and hygiene products.
