HYUNDAI MOTOR MANUFACTURING ALABAMA DONATES WHEELS FOR WELLNESS TO KID ONE TRANSPORT SYSTEM, INC.

MONTGOMERY, Ala., May 19, 2009 – Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama has donated a 2009 Santa Fe to Kid One Transport System Incorporated. Their fleet of vehicles is used to transport children and expectant mothers to medical appointments.

“Thousands of miles are put on a vehicle each year to carry needy patients to their doctors,” said Robert Burns, manager – public relations. “HMMA wanted to provide Kid One a highly dependable and safe vehicle to meet the organization’s needs. The Santa Fe was a natural choice because of its safety record and seating capacity.”

“In 2008, we were able to provide children and expectant mothers of the River Region with 2,694 “free” rides to doctors.  In 2009, we are experiencing a 20% increase the requests for our transportation services,” said Karen Peterlin, president – Kid One Transport. “The Santa Fe provided by HMMA will help us meet the growing demand for our services.  We are grateful to HMMA for helping Kid One meet its mission of transporting children and mothers to better health.”

The transportation service is available to low-income households in the River Region who have difficulty accessing medical, dental and mental health care services.

“Kid One Transport is a splendid non-profit organization that’s doing wonders for women and children in need of transportation to medical appointments,” explained Marva Watkins, Kid One – River Region transport technician. “Having dependable transportation is essential for this organization to complete its mission, and Hyundai has played a major role in making this happen today.

“On behalf of all Kid One drivers, I would like to thank HMMA for their generosity; and rest assured I will treasure this vehicle as if it was my own,” added Watkins.

Kid One is the only door-to-door transportation assistance provider specifically for children and expectant mothers, completely free of charge, in the state of Alabama.
