Montgomery Half Marathon 2010

The Second Annual Montgomery Half Marathon and Capitol City 5K sponsored by Hyundai on Saturday, October 2, 2010, brought together about 1,800 runners and walkers for the event’s half marathon, 5K and kids’ one-mile run.

Over 100 of those participants were HMMA Team Members and their family members. Many Team Members also volunteered their time to pass out race packets, work water stations, and monitor turns in the course.

The first member of the HMMA Team to cross the finish line in the half marathon was James Chang, for the second consecutive year. James was followed by Bill McCain and then Brad Wegner.

For the 5K race, Tyrone Bolden was the first Team Member across the line, also repeating his performance from last year. Tyrone was followed by Andy Ortega and Cedric Oliver.

The Montgomery Half Marathon was presented by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and benefited the Joy to Life Foundation, a non-profit organization providing free mammograms for medically underserved women under 50 years of age in 28 counties in South Central Alabama.

This is Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama’s second year as presenting sponsor for the Montgomery Half Marathon. Hyundai is always proud to support programs that promote health, physical fitness and recreation.
